FAQ

Questions founders ask before the first hire.

Who employs the person?

You do, as an independent contractor. You sign a contractor agreement directly with the candidate and pay them monthly. We send the agreement template, the W-8BEN form for US companies and a first-week checklist. We are a recruitment service, not an employer of record.

How do I pay someone in Georgia or Uzbekistan?

Deel contractor payments (about $49 a month) or a Wise Business transfer in USD. Both are standard for our candidates. If you prefer, the retention plan includes us administering the payouts.

What about time zones?

EU hours are native for our candidates. For US clients, candidates work 2 pm to 11 pm local time, which covers 9 am to 6 pm US Eastern. Philippine candidates cover US night shifts.

What if it does not work out?

If the person leaves or is let go in the first 90 days, we replace them at no cost. On the retention plan, replacement is available at any time.

Where do you source, and where not?

Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine and the Philippines. We do not source in Russia or Belarus: US and EU companies cannot pay contractors there.

Why not just hire on Upwork?

You can. Upwork gives you 200 applications and 20 hours of screening. We give you three people who passed a written test, a live interview, a reference check and a setup check, with videos, in a week. If none fits, you pay nothing.

Request profiles

Tell us the role. Three profiles in 7 days, no cost until someone starts.

Write a few lines or send the form. We reply within one business day with a yes or a no, and a short list of questions if we need them.
